Large installations
Generally there are three types of large installation:
- Large central installations where most of the servers are located centrally and cameras are distributed
- Large decentralized installations with a central control site and where several servers are geographically distributed (e.g. in banking and retail with hundreds
or thousands of subsidiaries)
- Mixed installations with a strong central site but also several servers distributed geographically (e.g. a large installation at the headquarters and multiple sites with
video surveillance) Observer can handle all types and layouts of large installations.
Below is an example of a large installation with a control room and a monitor wall, professional server and storage technology (SAN), reuse of existing analog cameras, use ofmodern network cameras, and a number of managed subsidiaries.
