ABS Technology
Mostly, when using video applications between two different sites, only a limited bandwidth is at your disposal. This fact makes the usage of megapixel cameras almost impossible. However, thanks to the unique ABS TM (Adaptive Balanced Streaming) Technology in NETAVIS Observer, it is possible to use even megapixel cameras and control PTZ cameras with an extremely limited bandwidth. Thanks to ABS TM the bandwidth can be reduced extremely and managed in an optimal way.
The application of ABS TM is suitable when transferring data between different sites.

| The below-mentioned graphics show how the bandwidth is minimized while using ABSTM. |
| |
| What is ABSTM exactly? |
 |
 |
Through ABS it is possible to transfer a maximum of audio and video data via an extremely limited bandwidth. Herewith Observer guarantees that the application does not consume more bandwidth than assigned. In general, the efficiency of ABS increases when using several cameras, for example in one view. The bandwidth need of a video stream depends on the particular camera scene and on current camera operation (PTZ, zooming)
- ABS dynamically assigns bandwidth to each single camera stream by analyzing the scene and the current operation
- ABS does bandwidth-balancing between cameras in a multi-camera live view
- ABS does not misuse bandwidth for transferring noise
- ABS transcoder decides frame by frame where to concentrate substantial CPU and network resources

The benefits of the ABSTM technology are as follows:
- Guaranteed bandwidth management
- Professional multi-site video surveillance in low bandwidth environments
- Adaptive usage of existing network infrastructure
