Bringing true business benefits to retail at IFSEC International 2015

NETAVIS presented the high-performance, flexible and open platform for business value applied to the example sector retail at the Canon booth on IFSEC International 2015 in London.

Jacco Leurs, Head of Professional Imaging at Canon Europe Ltd. and Thomas Rehberger, Senior Sales Manager at NETAVIS Software GmbH

"Our cooperation with Canon aims to provide added business value through the security infrastructure that is connected to the network cameras. The NETAVIS Observer video management software integrated Canon's hardware and offers our customers an overall solution", explains Thomas Rehberger, NETAVIS Senior Sales Manager and specialist for business intelligence in retail.

Utilising the latest network security cameras of Canon, we were able to demonstrate high resolution imaging of this well known brand together with NETAVIS as an integrated solution at the ExCeL London. Applied to retail as an example sector, we demonstrated the following showcases:

Security and Loss Prevention

  1. Video Surveillance
NETAVIS Observer, the open platform for video management, covers security aspects like loss prevention and inventory shrinkage. Optional solutions for staff security, sabotage detection and perimeter security illustrate the technological advance of this open platform.
  2. Parking Lot Surveillance
For fast-tracked damage assessment, NETAVIS Observer supports permanent as well as event and time-based recording, a unique time zoom function for fast archive search and motion detection in recordings. With the manipulation-safe export files, the video streams are widely accepted as evidence by insurances, the police and the courts.
  3. Number Plate Recognition
NETAVIS solutions for number plate recognition in free-flow traffic or for slow and stopped vehicles provide automatic detection of license plates of over 60 countries. They can be combined with motion detection as well as integrated with external systems such as barriers or transponder chip solutions.

Marketing & Operation

  1. Customer Potential
NETAVIS iCAT Video Analytics provides bidirectional customer frequency monitoring. The unique Smart-Tripwire technology substantially reduces the error ratio.
  2. Customer Behavior
NETAVIS iCAT generates heat maps for four different types of analytics data: amount of moving customers, speed of moving customers, amount of stopping customers and their dwell time in different areas of the store. With the colored overlays, retailers quickly gain valuable knowledge about customer behavior in live, as well as archive video streams.
  3. Customer Segmentation
NETAVIS iCAT Face Detection distinguishes faces in video streams and estimates age group and gender. Exporting those segmentations to existing applications or combining them with contextual sales data in the NETAVIS Retail Dashboard, enables easy customer segmentation, enhanced product placement and improved target marketing.
  4. Conversion Rate Management
The browser-based NETAVIS Retail Dashboard provides clear and intuitive reports and charts for vital conversion rate management and other freely definable key performance indicators. Thus, real business value is provided.

Thank you for discussing the real business value of IP video with us at the IFSEC International 2015!
